This bimonthly reading series is intended to prioritize the safety, creativity, and stories of Black people, Indigenous people, and People of Color.
Come listen to our featured readers, or sign up to share your work in our open mic. Readings will be followed by a short community discussion.

Grades 6-8 are welcome to join me Monday, August 17th - Friday, August 21st from 9:00am-1:00pm at Vibe’s SE Studio to explore collaborative mural painting. Over the course of the week, students will learn what goes into designing and completing an outdoor group mural. They will gain experience in prepping & gridding images onto outdoor surfaces, as well as applying exterior acrylics in accordance with a design grid to enliven an outdoor wall onsite.

Artist Statement: SHADOWS OF TODAY are new works developed within the first six months of relocating to the Pacific Northwest, the work explores interactions, thoughts, and seasons highlighted by color text, and contrast to create a dual experience. The portraiture figures contain shadows in various stages of revealing and the larger pieces represent the veneer of patterns and calm reflection on one side to the starkness of the internal struggle.
